Lizzie Harrison

Lizzie Harrison is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Textiles as well as a designer, researchers and social entrepreneur. Her research is interested in how using transdisciplinary and collaborative approaches can allow us to reimagine the world we live in for a more inclusive and resilient future. Her recent collaborative research Laundry Justice explores hidden laundry knowledge developed by Bristol’s Vehicle Dwellers living off grid using circus as a form of critical making. She is particularly interested in how participatory and collaborative creative work happens in practice. Using the lens of climate justice Lizzie’s research unlocks conversations around how we can leverage existing knowledge and wisdom to respond to fashion’s environmental and social impact on the planet through low-fi, decentralised, grassroots action.
