Andrew Spicer is Professor of Cultural Production. He teaches on MA Creative Producers, MA Contemporary Film Culture and is the Programme Leader for the Masters in Research (MRes: Culture). His principal research interests are in masculinities, stardom, and the creative industries. His most recent books are Get Carter: Michael Klinger, Independent Production and British Cinema, 1960-1980 (2013), Beyond the Bottom Line: The Producer in Film and Television Studies (2014), and Building Successful and Sustainable Television and Film Businesses (2017). He recently led an investigation into the ecology of the film and television industries in Bristol, Go West! He is currently working on a major study of the UK’s film and television industries and a monograph: Sean Connery: Stardom and National Identity.
