Dominic Lees

Dominic Lees is an experienced film and television drama director whose practice includes over forty commissions from broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV and Channel Four, as well as work in the independent film sector in the UK, Poland and France.  His creative research has been funded by the British Council, the UK Film Council, the EU’s MEDIA programme and the Berlin-Brandenburg State Senate.

 

Dominic is Associate Head of Department (Filmmaking) at UWE, teaching film directing.  As an author, he writes on creative practices in film and television.  His current research is into digital face replacement in the moving image: his Virtual Maggie project explores the potential of Deep Fakes processes for film drama by digitally resurrecting Margaret Thatcher to perform in a new work of screen fiction.
