George Lovesmith

George Lovesmith

George is an architect and educator with a practice focussed on social engagement. He is a Senior Lecturer at UWE.

Recent projects include the strategic co-production of Red Brick Field, a park in Plymouth; & the remodelling of Maindee Library+, Newport. A short film documenting the social processes in Maindee, was recently selected for the architecture room at Bristol’s RWA annual ‘Open’ exhibition. Another piece of work, originating from a UWE live project, is Ebenezer Gate Pocket Park on Bristol’s North Street, which received a Live Project Network Awards Honourable Mention.

George was a Playable City participant in Recife, Brazil; He represented the UK at the Taiwan Design Expo; and was an Arts Council International Fellow in Huesca, Spain. Research themes include Learning in Design Creativity, Collaboration & Inhabitation within Architectural Photography.
